Landscape design for Hai Tan roundabout

Roundabout is an important point in the urban transportation system. It is considered a valuable landscape contributing to the city landscape. Hai Tan roundabout, the southern gateway of Hai Duong city, is the intersection of many major roads. Therefore, in order to enhance the image of the urban landscape and create a highly artistic work at Hai Tan intersection, Eden Landscape designed a landmark of “old letter”.

In the poem “Ba tiêu” (banana tree) in “Quốc Âm Thi Tập” of master poet Nguyen Trai – a son of Hai Duong, there is a sentence “love letter still closes, the wind come helped to open”. The image of banana leaf shyly rolling up is the inspiration for Eden Landscape to design the artistic landmark of this roundabout.

Designed with natural stone material, the landmark is 7.2 m height. The body is sculpted with delicate decorative patterns inspired from Chu Dau ancient plates and pots. This landmark is considered to be a symbol of honoring the land and people of Hai Duong, promoting the spirit of learning and reminding local people of cultural tradition of fathers.
