“cây khoai nước” (Colocasia esculenta) is a kind of plant belonging to “Ray” (Araceae). In Vietnam, “khoai nước” is used as food for both human and animals generations. Their image ware also romantically transferred into traditional proverbs “Ý ai thì mặc ý ai/ Đôi ta vẫn cứ canh khoai đầy nồi”; “Được mùa chớ phụ môn khoai/ Đến khi thất bát lấy ai bạn cùng”. In “Đông Hồ” folk wood carvings – a line of Vietnamese folk paintings “Lợn ăn lá ráy” the image of “lá ráy”also expresses the Vietnamese people’s desire for peace and fulfillment.
The Goldmark City project was built on a wetland that used to be a farming field of people in Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi. Creating a difference based on the locality of the land, Eden Landscape architects took the familiar image of “cây khoai nước” and the image of whirlpools as the design inspiration for the steel “Lá khoai” landmarks. This is a landscape landmark for the Water Squarespace in Goldmark City urban.
The steel cluster “Lá khoai” landmark consists of 5 “lá khoai” made of reinforced stainless steel , the leaf stem is 4-7m high and soft shaped. The leaf blade is CNC cut like the image of potato leaves eaten by worms in the nature. The leaves of the steel pipes were designed to run vertically to form elegant leaf veins The design created beautiful effect when observing from the bottom or the top. The steel “Lá khoai” landmark is painted in eye-catching yellow color, combined with the funny water eyes to bring to the space of Water Square a joyful and dynamic atmosphere that brings positive inspiration for residents of the urban area.
Goldmark City is a residential complex built on an area of 12 hectares. This was one of the major real estate projects in Hanoi with a serious investment for landscape.
The project landscape was impressively designed with 4 large squares: Ruby square, Sapphire square, Water square and Light square. Each square has its symbol, its character providing for residents with spaces to play and relax. As an urban area with many squares, Goldmark City was awarded the record by Vietnam Record (VietKings) for the apartment complex with the most squares in Vietnam.
In 2016, Goldmark City proudly got the Vietnam Property Award with the category of the best luxury apartment in Hanoi. The project has created a great reputation, being evaluated by the market as the urban area with the most beautiful scenery in Vietnam. Goldmark City has become a name that is always mentioned by experts when talking about urban landscapes.
